Macsumsuk Growfeed Research with Broilers Chicken
Macsumsuk Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral researched
at the Apostle’s Farm in the Philippines from May 2010
to June 2010 on chicken over 50 days. The experiment
used a control group which did not receive the
Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral and compared them to
the experimental group which received 0.5% of
Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral added to their diet. The
experiment performed on 100 laying chicken in each of
the two groups.
The result of the experiment: The weight gain rate in the total weight gain of the experimental group improved compared to the control group. The experimental group showed lower values of the total cholesterol in the blood as well as in GOT and GPT tests, which indicate the liver functions. The experimental group also showed higher IgG contents, which indicate the amount of immunity substances in the blood. The experimental group showed higher water-holding capacity, an indication of the meat quality, than the control group. For the fatty acid composition, the experimental group showed higher unsaturated fatty acid contents than the control group whereas the control group showed higher saturated fatty acids.
